About This Spot

Stepping into Broadside Tavern, you’re greeted by a warm, inviting vibe that blends the welcoming spirit of an Irish pub with the casual comfort of a downtown Boston gathering spot. The atmosphere hums with friendly chatter and the quiet flicker of multiple TVs showing the latest games, making it easy to settle into a booth or cozy table. It’s a place where the pace feels measured—lively enough for an evening out but relaxed enough for a midday bite or casual weekend lunch.

Here, the menu feels like a thoughtfully crafted snapshot of local and comforting flavors, perfect for sharing with friends or enjoying solo. From rich, creamy chowders that nod to New England’s seafood heritage, to crispy fish and chips that come paired with just the right balance of tartar sauce and perfectly salted fries, the food encourages lingering moments. The fare moves beyond the expected with playful touches like buffalo cauliflower or a teriyaki salmon bowl, quietly hinting at a knack for both tradition and a hint of adventure.

The beverage selection flows alongside effortlessly, offering everything from classic Guinness pours to inventive takes on cocktails—like the subtle sweetness of a pumpkin pie martini or a mango mai tai—that complement the menu without overwhelming the easygoing atmosphere. Whether you’re stopping in after work or gathering for a casual meal, the approachable nature of Broadside Tavern invites you to soak in its unpretentious charm.

What really stands out is how the staff’s easy friendliness and attentiveness create a space that feels more like a neighborhood spot than just another city restaurant. Regulars and newcomers alike find room here—enough space to relax, chat, and unwind without the clamor or rush of a typical downtown bar. It’s this balance of comfort and connection that makes Broadside Tavern more than just a place to eat; it’s a locale that welcomes simple, satisfying moments in the heart of Boston.

Dropped in here for Saturday lunch. Great staff, very friendly and efficient. Loads of booth type tables and wasn't too busy at that time. They served great Guinness and the fish and chips were excellent. Prices are very reasonable for the city. A must visit.

Just stopped to dine in for a dinner, got a Caesar salad and fish & chips. The fish was very flakey and tender but completely bland :( the tartar sauce did save the day along with the fries. The fries banggg.

Cool spot that the family and I went to. Not too loud and plenty of TVs to watch sports. The potato skins were great and we took advantage of two of their specials. The cheesy potato bacon soup was on point and I gave their buffalo chicken salad a go and it did not disappoint. The crispy chicken rap was really good as well. The star of the show were their freaking fries…a must get. Crispy on the outside and soft in the middle.

The Broadside Tavern is a nice Irish Pub located in downtown Boston. I had a light lunch here and the meal I had was fantastic so was the service. If your looking for a casual night out downtown, the Broadside Tavern is your spot!

I ordered their Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich. Overall it was pretty good, wish the chicken was a bit thicker, but the flavor was solid. Pretty decent place for a quick bite.

Looked at the menu online and immediately wanted to try it! We were seated immediately & got our orders in very quick. Our server was fast and polite. We ordered the Irish chicken curry with fries & the crispy chicken wrap. Both were delicious! Surprisingly very light meals, we cleared our plates no problem! It was a bit loud, but I didn’t expect anything else on a Saturday night. Would go again!

Great lunch/early dinner with a variety of specials and selections. The espresso martinis were the best part.

If you’re on the hunt for the best espresso martini in Boston, stop searching—Broadside Tavern is the spot. I’ve tried espresso martinis all over the city, and nothing comes close to the one here. It’s bold, smooth, perfectly balanced, and dangerously easy to drink. You can tell they take pride in every pour. Beyond the martini, their espresso itself is on another level—rich, aromatic, and the ideal afternoon pick-me-up or after-dinner closer. Whether you’re starting your night or winding it down, Broadside hits all the right notes. The vibe is elevated yet welcoming, and the staff makes the whole experience even better. You feel like you’re in on Boston’s best-kept secret. Perfect for a night out with friends, a date spot, or just treating yourself to a top-tier drink. Can’t recommend this place enough—Broadside Tavern is that place for espresso lovers.
